Built in the Qing Dynasty, the house is close to An Min Xiang (Reassuring the Public Alley) in front and is next to the former residence of Lin Congyi (Lin Zexu’s younger son) at the back with a wall in between. Cheng Yuzhu, an overseas Chinese from the Philippines, is the present owner of the house, who bought it in the 50s of the 20th century. The house has been well preserved to this day and Fuzhou’s traditional architecture style can still be traced here. The main hall has four couplets on the pillars, adding cultural atmosphere to the house. All the windows and panes in the wing rooms on both sides and the parlour on the west side remain intact. There is a small patio at the back hall, on both sides of which stand double-storey buildings renovated in early 20th century.
It was announced as a 3rd group of cultural sites under district protection.
