The construction began in the Ming Dynasty. Sitting north and facing south, the house is composed of four compounds occupying a total area of 946㎡. In the late Qing Dynasty, Lin Juemin turned it into a newspaper-reading club. During the May 4th Movement of 1919, Fujian Students Union was established here. Later it became the office of Yingqian Town’s Model Village created by Huang Zhanyun.
The building was designated as one of the 6th group of cultural relics under provincial protection in 2005.
